If you are in search of a dynamic art piece that will become the focal point of a room, wall fountains make an excellent option. Fountains have evolved from utilitarian structures used primarily for drinking water, bathing and washing, to aesthetically vibrant centerpieces where people gather to enjoy the sight, sound and feel of flowing water. People enjoy fountains so much that there are now countless indoor water fountains to choose from. Wall fountains provide the comfort of flowing water without taking up too much space. While your fountain should come supplied with their own instructions, it is a good to get an idea of what is involved before making a purchase.

When your fountain arrives, read the instruction manual thoroughly. The following will be a rough guide as to how wall fountains are installed, but your fountain may come with a few unique instructions that will be important to follow.

Before beginning, make sure that you have chosen a spot where a wall outlet is available. It is not recommended to use extension cords with wall fountains. Check with the instruction manual to see if the fountain you have purchased needs to be hung from wall studs. This will be based on its weight. With that said, if you have purchased a heavyweight wall fountain, it would be wise to hire the assistance of a professional contractor.

Installing wall fountains takes more than one person. You will need someone to hold it in place so that you can use a level to make sure it is straight. Once you have it leveled out, use a pencil to mark the location of the top of the fountain.

Next, turn the fountain over to find out what type of hanging mechanism it includes. You will then measure the location of the brackets or clips from the sides and top of the fountain. Use these measurements to then mark the wall to indicate where the brackets or clips will hang.

With a hammer, tap the anchors into the wall using the marked locations. Then, screw the anchors in. You will then screw the screws into the anchors, but be sure to leave enough of the screw out from the wall so that the brackets or clips can be hung from them. You can now pick up the fountain and securely hang the brackets or clips onto the wall.
