The workaday world can be quite bothersome, and when you come home after a long day at work, itís nice to have a place where you can relax. Some people have taken to creating meditation rooms in their home, a little hideaway complete with an indoor water feature.

When you are in your room, you will be able to tune out the rest of the world. Make sure that you turn off any electronics in the house, including your cell phone so you are not disturbed. You can keep the lights on in the room if you wish, but itís a good idea to use mood lighting rather than traditional lighting. After all, you want to make sure that you are able to relax when you are in there, and you donít want it to remind you of the overhead lights at work. Close your eyes and listen to the relaxing sound of the water cascading down the fountain.

You can feel the stress and the built up frustration start to melt away almost immediately. Itís amazing just how soothing these sounds are and what a bit of peace and quiet can do for you. Itís a good idea to do your meditation and relaxation techniques as soon as you come home from work. After ten to twenty minutes of pure relaxation, you will be ready for anything else that the evening might throw your way.

Even if you arenít into meditation per se, you can still have a nice and quiet room with an indoor water feature. You can use the area as a reading room, a study room, or just about anything else that you would like. The important thing is to have a space where you and anyone else in the family can come and unwind at the end of the day. You simply need to make sure that the room remains a quiet space, not a place for talking about the day at work or for playing video games!

If you like the thought of a meditation room, but you simply donít have the space available for it, donít despair. Instead of dedicating an entire room to your meditation, consider making just a corner of one room available for your relaxation time. Have a smaller indoor water feature, such as a tabletop fountain and perhaps a small yoga mat to sit on while you relax.
